Madeleine Cule

Statistical Laboratory, University of Cambridge

I've just submitted my PhD thesis, entitled "Maximum likelihood estimation of a multivariate log-concave density". Until April 2010 I will be working as a tutor at the African Institute for Mathematical Sciences (AIMS) in Muizenberg, South Africa.

For the past three years, I've been a member of the Statistical Laboratory (part of the Department of Pure Maths and Mathematical Statistics) of the University of Cambridge.

My PhD supervisor was Dr Richard Samworth.

Biography

From 2001-2004 I studied mathematics at Emmanuel College, Cambridge.

After graduation I spent one year as a non-degree student at Harvard University as a Herchel Smith scholar and resident of Eliot House.

In 2005 I returned to the older Cambridge to read the Certificate of Advanced Study in Mathematics (Part III), a one-year taught Masters-level course.

After spending a summer working for the NRICH project, I began a PhD in the Statistical Laboratory in October 2006.
