In this illustrated lecture, Mick will describe the dramas of his latest Himalayan first ascent of previously unclimbed Gave Ding (6,571m) via the spectacular north face. This mountain lies in remote north-west Nepal on the border with Tibet. Mick and Paul Ramsden struck gold, as usual. This is adventure mountaineering at its very best and a presentation not to be missed.

Mick has been a leading figure in the climbing world for 40 years. He was voted the Mountaineer’s Mountaineer in the Observer newspaper, has won three Piolet d’Or awards (the Oscars of the mountaineering world), and was awarded the King Albert Medal for mountain achievement in 2012. He has written two books about his climbs and won several literary awards.
