Simple2x |
Simple2x is a small program written to run under Windows and designed to assist students to learn the simplex algorithm. It takes the hard labour out of performing pivot operations and it may be configured to prompt the choice of pivot elements, to set up Phase I etc., or to solve problems automatically. It contains built in help and it should be accessible to those learning the simplex algorithm from the course notes. A screenshot is available.
A zip file may be downloaded from one of the links below -- unpack the .exe file and the Help file (.chm) to the same folder, then doubleclick the .exe file in Windows Explorer to start the program. The .slx files contain tableaux for some of the problems on the example sheet.

If you have an older edition of Windows and have difficulty running the above version, you may try an earlier release, Version 1.01 or Simple2x--lite, which has most of the principal features and should work on Windows95 onwards. Download Version 1.01
