I always considered teaching as a very important component of my academic career pursuit.
In the past five years, I have been serving as teaching assistant and guest lecture for variety of statistics
and probability courses at both undergraduate and graduate levels. I have built solid skills in teaching,
mentoring, communication, and organization. My teaching philosophy is to assure every student in my class to
develop good knowledge and understanding of statistics both in theory and in practice. I also emphasize
on improving students¡¯ skills in analytical thinking, problem solving, and on developing them a good sense of
quantitative method. In the future, I am capable of teaching variety of statistics and mathematics
courses in different topics and at different levels, undergraduate or graduate. Specifically, I am quite interested
in teaching theoretical statistics and probability courses, where I am good at communicating abstract ideas and concepts
to students in a necessary mathematical rigor.
For detailed discussion of my teaching experience and philosophy, please refer to my teaching statement.
