  • Train:

There is a regular express service to Cambridge from London King's Cross station, with nonstop trains, every 30 minutes, that takes about 45 mins. More details on the timetable are available from National Rail. The railway station is about 3 miles away from the conference site and 3.5 miles away from the accommodation site.

  • Bus:

The central drop-off point for bus services is at the city bus station on Drummer Street, in the city centre. The timetable is available is available from National Express, which operates coaches services from the main towns in the UK. The bus station is about 2 miles from the conference site and 2.5 miles from the accommodation site.

  • From the stations to Fitzwilliam College and the CMS

Here is a general map showing where the stations and the College are, while to have more detailed maps of the various locations in Cambridge, you can click here and enter the specific street you need in the Index search.
A taxi from the train station to Fitzwilliam College or the Centre for Mathematical Sciences costs around five pounds and should take about 10 minutes. Alternatively, there is a local bus service: the City5 and the City6 go from Emmanuel road to Huntingdon road, where the College is; the City1 goes from the train station to the city centre, (here is a map of all the local buses in the city); the City 4 bus service arrives close to the CMS but it is a 10 minute walk between the train station and the Bateman Street or Brooklands Avenue bus stop.

  • Car:

Parking is very limited in Cambridge, so it might be worth coming by train or bus. The city can be reached through the A14, the M11 or the A428 and a useful website to get a detailed map is, for example, Mappy. To reach Fitzwilliam College by car:

  • From the North: via the A1 to Huntingdon, then A14 and A1307 (Huntingdon Road) into Cambridge. Fitzwilliam is approximately 2 miles along Huntingdon Road on your right hand side. From the East: Using the A14 take the B1049 exit towards Cambridge. At the end of Histon Road turn right and right again at the traffic lights into Huntingdon Road. Fitzwilliam is approximately 200 metres on your left. From the South: Use junction 13 of the M11 to come east into Cambridge along the A1303 (Madingley road). After a couple of miles and passing the side of Churchill College there is a left hand turn into Storey's Way, just before the traffic lights. The road passes the front entrance of Churchill College ahead of you is Fitzwilliam College and the road curves left around it. From the West: Join either the M11 or A14 and follow directions as detailed above.
