The University of Adelaide invites applications from both women and men for the position:

RESEARCH ASSOCIATE/
POSTDOCTORAL FELLOW (Ref: 6997)

in the

DEPARTMENT OF APPLIED MATHEMATICS

The successful applicant will be required to work with Drs Bill Henderson, Charles Pearce and Peter Taylor as part of the Stochastic Modelling Group, and Dr Phil Pollett (Department of Mathematics, The University of Queensland), on the Australian Research Council funded project ``Matrix-Analytic Methods in Applied Probability''.

The successful applicant should have research interests in Applied Probability or Computational Mathematics/Statistics. They should either hold a PhD or be nearing completion of their PhD and should be able to work independently. The position is temporary and available from 1 March 1996 for a period of three years on an annually renewable basis. However, applicants who would wish to commence later in 1996 should not be deterred from applying.

SALARY PER ANNUM: Research Associate/Postdoctoral Fellow: $32,914 -- $40,087 (A minimum of $37,345 per annum is payable to the holder of a PhD).
