Research interests: Functional limit theorems in probability and statistics, queueing theory, insurance.
My current research interests are in approximations and statistics for stochastic models, mainly in queueing theory and in insurance mathematics. For example, a recent paper, joint with N. H. Bingham, deals with estimation of the (unknown) service-time distribution function, given data on busy and idle periods in an M/G/infinity queue. Another area of interest is in approximations for stochastic models for single ion channels.
