Background

The "Cambridge Statistics Initiative" has been kick-started by a "Science and Innovation" award to the Statistical Laboratory in DPMMS http://www.statslab.cam.ac.uk/. But wonderful statistical work is being done in other parts of Cambridge, both within and without the University, and the success of the initiative will depend crucially on harnessing all the talents and potential for fruitful interaction that this offers. This 1-day meeting was organised to bring all interested parties together to describe their statistical interests and approaches and generally to get to know each other.
